Science
Our science curriculum places a strong emphasis on Biology, supported by engaging lessons in Chemistry and Physics. We focus on:
Foundation level understanding
Scientific literacy and terminology
Practical application and problem-solving
Exam-style questions and preparation techniques
Topic areas such as the human body, ecosystems, chemical reactions, forces, and energy
This approach helps students develop the knowledge and confidence to approach GCSE Science with success.
History
We embed History learning alongside English to reinforce analytical and contextual understanding across subjects. Students explore key events, ideas, and individuals from the curriculum while developing:
Source analysis and interpretation
Chronological understanding
Critical thinking and debate
Cross-curricular writing skills
Videos to support learning
Health & Medicine
Both World Wars
Power and Conflict
Topics support the wider curriculum and encourage engagement with the past in a way that connects to the present.
Relationships and Sex Education (RSE)
At Action2Change, our RSE curriculum is designed to help students develop the knowledge, skills, and values they need to make informed decisions about their relationships, health, and wellbeing.
We cover topics such as:
Healthy relationships, including friendships, family and romantic relationships
Consent, respect, and boundaries
Online safety and the impact of social media
Sexual health, puberty, and reproductive education (covered in Biology)
Awareness and Inclusion
Managing emotions and mental wellbeing
Recognising and reporting abuse or unhealthy behaviour
Our teaching is age-appropriate, inclusive, and in line with the national curriculum guidance. We aim to create a safe, respectful environment where students feel confident asking questions and learning about themselves and others.
